Another one who has seen it

And she also has joined The Crusade!

MaryKate has now joined in our Crusade. She has watched the wonder that is North and South and loves it like the rest of us!!

***ETA***

Rather than cleaning up the remnants of the tornado that hit my kitchen - which has to be done by Monday when the wrecking crew arrives - I added all kinds of links to the sidebar - of - guess what? I think I have everyone as of 11:00, Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008 - but let me know if I left you out. My mind was on the kitchen and all I have to do.

yippeee! We are collecting quite an armada of bloggers in this crusade. mwahaha! After getting my family on the N&S love train, my next target is my DBF. Perhaps this weekend I will get him to sit down and watch it with me. Although, is it wrong to lust after a man on screen when sitting beside the man you love in real life? hmm, a moral quandary. Must ponder...

Sula - Not if your BF *reaps* the benefits of all that lust. I'm sure you'll be amazed at how OK he is with it.

I have it waiting for me, again, at the library.

I went to her blog and posted! But woo-hoo, adding one more to the mix!!

Now, where are Holly, Cindy, Ames, and Wena? And I know Rosie has seen it ~~ her husband even watched it with her.

Well - I'm going to add something to the sidebar with links to all who've seen it and reported in and/or posted about it. I know Holly is trying to watch it but RL gets in the way. I think Wena and Ames are waiting for their copies and Cindy - well - I think we shall all have to pop over and 'gently persuade' her to watch it *evil grin* cause I know she has a copy.

Oooohhh Megan! I can hardly wait to see what you think of it!!! I think being a lover of all things P&P - you will ADORE for it. So you simply MUST report in! And I think you will be falling HARD for John Thornton!

Chantal: I do tend to go overboard don't I? It replaces that urge to gamble *g*. It's not often that something gut punches me like N&S - but when it does - I just like to see other people enjoy it too - and so far everyone has!! I'm sure there will be some who kind of scratch their heads and think we are a bit wierd - that yeah it's good but not THAT good - but it's just so darn exciting when people DO watch it and 'see' what we do. I'm sure Sula and Katiebabs will agree - it's a great feeling when someone watches it and loves it.

mos stef: Thank you SO much for stopping by and commenting. And we are SO glad that we got you curious enough to want to see North and South! Isn't it wonderful? And if you love it so far - just wait until you see watch episodes 3 & 4. As the saying goes - you ain't seen nothin' yet. Once you do I hope you come back and let us know your thoughts on the whole thing - or even better let us know you watched it and then blog about it *g* And I love the name of your blog by the way - that's how I feel about reading too!
And isn't it great that it's something both you and your mother can enjoy! It really goes to show the real appeal this series has for people of all generations and as Sula has experienced - both men and women!!

I watched Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility (Emma Thompson's portrayal of the older Miss Dashwood is second-to-none ) the other day and got a hankering for more period dramas, so I ordered the N&S DVD from Amazon.:)

I generally don't like reading many historicals, especially those written by Americans, but I do love watching period dramas, in all their glory.

I also watched Fanny Hill the other night, which cheered TTG up no end. :)

You should be in sales Kristie. *g*

LOL Karen - It only works as long as I believe in something 100% and I'm such a cyncial bitch beneath this Pollyana type exterioy *g*, I don't believe that much in most things. Now if I could get a job selling just North and South, Lisa Kleypas & JD Robb books - we're talking another story altogher! Any a hearty SQUEEE (stealing froy Sybil) and a loud Yippee Kyai that you were gently persuaded to try North and South too!! And funny you should say you watched Sense & Sensibility the other day because I just bought it the other day. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet with all the Stuff *shudder* I have to do, but I'm so looking forward to watching it again. I saw it years ago and loved it! And I hope after you watch it, you let us know what you - a native Brit - think of it ;) Here's hoping you love it too.
I haven't watched Fanny Hill - although I am seriously contemplating getting Lady Chatterly's Lover.

Kristie you are on a roll here. I have found myself watching the DVD everyday since the first viewing - I just cannot get enough - and I wish there were more movies like this out there. But until you find them *g*, I will be content to re-watch N&S.

Kristie-You crazy lady you. :D he-he. I haven't rewatched N & S yet. Just haven't had time. I've been trying to talk one of my best buds into watching it, but she's a diehard P & P fan at the moment. I don't think she believes me that N & S is as good, if not better. :D

Kristie (J) said...

Stacy: I KNOW!! I'm amazed and totally delighted beyond words at all the people who are watching - and loving it!!

Kaitlin: Well - if she loves P&P then just tell her you have something of comparison - and let her see for herself :)

It's on my Netflix list. I just have to get around to watching the Netflix I have now and then I should get it. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Seriously Kristie, BBC and the makers of North and South should be sending you a commission for all the copies of the DVD you are single handedly responsible for selling.

Rosie: ROTL - I don't need to hear from a corporation or production company. I'd be happy with just a wee note from RICHard. *laughing*

KT Grant said...

That wee note is in the works ;)

Oh we've watched the whole thing, sorry for not being more clear. Parts 3 & 4 really pay off all the build up and drama from the first two parts. The family dynamics were heartbreaking but so real- no matter when or where you are in life there are relationships that will always be around (such as having a controlling parents that loves you so much they start to destroy parts of your life.) I also loved how the romance was built on respect- attraction wasn't enough, they had to find out what they were made out of and then they couldn't stay apart. Once Armitage started smiling I just had a goofy grin on the rest of the day. :) I laughed, I cried, and at the end I literally cheered in my seat. I can't think of anyone I wouldn't recommend this wonderful series to.

I recently saw the 2004 Masterpiece Theater version of Jane Eyre, and if you loved North & South I HIGHLY recommend seeing this version. The actors were perfectly chosen and Rochester is pretty much off the page onto the screen, and you can't help loving the salty guy. Thanks again for talking up the series so much! :)
