Ahhhhh - the joys of on line shopping!!

I've been waiting for today to put in another online order. Thank Goodness Wendy reminded me. As soon as I saw her post, I headed over to Chapters online lickity split!
You see, it's much cheaper to order trade size or hardcover books online than it is to buy them in the store. I had a list in mind but I had to wait until one book in particular was available for shipping in order not to have to pay the shipping charges. So only moments ago I placed my latest order:

In Too Deep by Portia Da Costa

I've heard excellent things about her books and she has a lovely on line presence. After reading Wendy's review of this one I knew I had to get it! This one is the one I was waiting for to place my order

Flat Out Sexy by Erin McCarthy

I've also seen some wonderful reviews on this book - Mary Kate I know loved it. It helped her out her slump - maybe it will do the same for me! It's an older woman/younger man story and I love me some of those!!

Tempted by Megan Hart

This one has been tempting me for a while now. There have been a few things keeping me from reading it. I tried a Menage book not long ago and it didn't really work. Plus for an old grandkidless granny like me, to buy a book in the the book store is, I confess, a little intimidating. But since it was 24% off as you can see, I decided to give it a try. I also have her book Broken, but I've yet to read it.

Pleasuring the Pirate by Emily Bryan

I've read a couple of her books as Diana Groe and really enjoyed them. I've been keeping my eye out in the store for this one, but alas, they still don't have it in stock. So I figured if they didn't have it yet, chances were they weren't planning on it so I ordered it.

And last - but certainly not least

Broken Wing by Judith James

I know - you're all scratching your heads thinking 'wait a minute, I thought she has this one?! Has she been pulling our collective leg?'
Well, yes I do and no I haven't *g*. But my copy is signed by the author and after as many times as I've read it, I have to retire my original copy to my 'special shelf' to keep it from getting any rattier. And I do believe in putting my money where my mouth is so to speak and as this one isn't on the shelves either, I had no choice to order a copy that I can read.

They say I should get the books in 3 to 9 days. I'm just hoping it's close to 3 than it is to 9

I see how you roll. Blame Wendy for ordering books! Blame Wendy for feeding your TBR anxiety! Ha!

I hope you enjoy the Da Costa. You already know I adored it.

Oh, and absolutely nothing wrong with having multiple copies of keeper books. I've been known to do this as well......

Ooh, I loved Tempted, and Broken. The thing about Hart's books is that they're not romances. They're romantic, and they're erotic but they're not *romance*. Or at least, i don't think so.

I agree with lorelielong. I enjoyed Tempted, but was ultimately unsatisfied with the ending. Maybe it was cause I was expecting more of a HEA?

I read it in ebook format, that I bought directly from eHarlequin.com (less akwardness at the bookstore! ;-))

Hope you enjoy IN TOO DEEP!

I too have 'reading' copies of one or two favourite books, so I can keep the signed versions in good condition. :)

Ohhh, good books. I already read "Tempted." I enjoyed it but I too would say Hart is more romantic than romance. Especially the ending will make you work. And I'm tempted (haha) by "In Too Deep" (also because of Wendy's review) and "Flat Out Sexy." Actually, it's only a question of when I buy them, not if. :)

I look forward to reading your thoughts + nothing wrong with having a second copy of a special book.

When you get to finish your first book by Hart, you'll wonder why you didn't read them earlier - because they are that good! Then you'll go and buy them all :)

This happened to me :)

I read Tempted because I really enjoyed Dirty, but it wasn't quite as good. I think it's because I didn't like the heroine very much.

So looking forward to Portia's & Judith's books!

Oh yes, I do buy more than one copy of my favorites. Not all of them, just some.

Flat Out Sexy won't disappoint. it was such a fun and sexy read.
I blame Wendy for making me want to go to the bookstore because of the erotic librarian romance.

Oh, you lucky duck. I officially have to start saving for grad school, so like a bear in hibernation I'll be living off the fat of my TBR pile and the library for a while, at least until those Chapters gift certificates from distant relatives start pouring in at Christmas....*lol*

I'm anxious to hear your thoughts on the Megan Hart. I've had her in my TBR pile for awhile, but I haven't been in the mood to get that emotionally invested in something, so it keeps languishing.

I added the Portia Da Costa to my wish list, but I'm not allowed to buy anymore books (with a few exceptions) for awhile, so who knows when I'll actually get it. Hopefully sooner rather than later (yes, Wendy convinced me, too).

Is there anyone out there who can actually resist a recommendation by our very own Super Librarian???

(not me)

AL: I saw that!!! My hearty congratulations - you are in for a magnificent read!!

Holly: I think that's one of the reasons I haven't read Broken yet. I know enough of the story to know it will be a hard read - but a worthwhile one. I did convince someone (who I shan't name :-) to tell me how it ended though. I can handle it if I know in advance. And Wendy did a fine convincing job didn't she?

AnimieJune: Delayed Gratification can be a nasty thing can't it? But at least you will be hearing the buzz on books and can weed out the ones you're not sure you want. And let's face it - our TBR piles do need attention. I know mine is feeling neglected.

Katie: Wendy - SUPERLibrarian has struck more than one I see! And I'm on it for Flat Out Sexy!

Stacy: Both Tempted and In Too Deep are outside my norm - that's for sure. But what fun is it staying inside that box all the time anyway?? And I am ANXIOUSLY waiting to see what you think of the James book :-)

Maija: I've heard good thinks about Megan Hart for a while now - that's one of the reasons I bought Broken. So I'm looking forward to it!!

Taja: I've heard that about the Hart books - that they aren't romance in the sense that I'm used to. But her stories sound so powerful and so moving that I simply have to give her a try!!

Portia: Hello!! I've been wanting to try your books for a while now - but that's a genre I have VERY little experience with. So when I read Wendy's Most Excellent review, I thought AHA!! and knew this was the book I was going to start with!! And it seemed like such a loooong time from when I read her book until the publishing date.

Renee: The last time I bought books from Chapters it was nothing BUT young guy cashiers - and I just couldn't imagine taking that one and buying it by going through their lines - lol! I've come a long way, but not quite that far with that cover! Now on the other hand - if it was Krisite buying the book - she probably would have picked up one of the young guy cashiers - she's a lot bolder than me :-)

Lorelie: I've heard that about them so I know going in that they will not be what I'm used to. But...in this never ending world in which we live in - you've got to give it a try (and now that song will be playing in my head all night long - well no it won't - SYTYCD will be on soon - that should get rid of it *evil grin*

Wendy: *laughing* I'm not Blaming you - I'm THANKING you!!!! As I said to Portia, I've been wanting to try her books for a while - now I have the one to start with.
