A little Birdie told me

That we have another Maybe Crusader who I'm hoping will be turned into a Crusader once she sees North and South.

The Maybe Crusader? Christine so my little birdie tells me, has it in her hot little hands!

And yet another reader at AAR has been smitten with North and South!!

Woo-hoo! There can never be too many Crusaders :-) I'm going to watch this again over the weekend ~ it's been too long since I've seen it last.

Hey Kristie. I just came across an article in The Guardian on North and South. It's about the book, a 'rereading' by one of Gaskell's biographers. Nothing new... but as you are the font of all things N&S, I thought you might like to read it :-)

I watched the first episode last night and how delighted was I when I realised that lots of the locations belong to my own beloved city!

Episode 2 tonight.

Oh and BTW - loved episode 1. Some of the scenes are so beautifully shot. All the white cotton in the air and the way it ends: 'I've seen hell. And it's white'. Gorgeous.

Tumperkin - that's my lasting and most striking memory of the series, too. Brilliant.

Did they film in Edinburgh then?

Meriam: They did quite a bit of filming in Edinburgh. I watched the first and fourth episodes with the commentary on and they explained where many of the scenes were shot and that was one of the main ones. And thanks for the link!! I will read it soon.

Tumperkin: I'm repeating myself her - but YIPEEEE!!! I can hardly wait to hear what you think of it!!!!

LOL Kristie! That little birdie was quick to report me to the N&S Police, wasn't she? I'll be sure to report in once I've watched the film. ;)
