One of the great things about blog land is there are always new ones joining the community.

Here are a few new or new-to-me bloggers.

Two Old Farts talking romance. No, I'm not insulting them *g*. That's the name of their blog. Carolyn and Lori have a unique take on romance :-)

And my newest find - Judi L of The Book Pimp Blogs. She's a baby blogger having been birthed in February. And in the land of the whole world of blogging - she's a neighbour so to speak - another blogger who will be adding U's where they should go *g*.

A new baby blogger!! Natalie of reading2learn started blogging for some most excellent reasons!! She has joined Christine's In Death Challenge and wanted to blog about them. I can't think of a better reason to start blogging than Roarke!!

She's only been with us since January so if you haven't had a chance yet, drop in say hey!!

New (to me and sometimes not) bloggers

One of the things I kind of fell down on in the past little while has been spotlighting new bloggers I've found. Although I don't make New Year's resolutions in real life, I have a few for the blog. Try and review every book I read and say hey to new (to me) bloggers. But because I've been behind, some aren't quite so new - just new to me 'introducing' them.

So say a belated hi to who I think of as Renee2 of Renee's Book Addiction (as opposed to Renee1 of Renee Reads who I've 'known' longer). Renee2's guy is currently reading Outlander so drop by and enjoy his observations. He just read "The Spanking" scene!!

And blogger who I've 'known' for a little while now - and meant to say hi to here sooner - really - is Lea of Closetwriter. She has the Most Adorable Chinese Crested and for anyone who's read Susan Donovan's Take a Chance on Me - Lea has a picture of this breed. (I told her she needs to read it because Hairy IS the real hero of that book *g*) She's just read Wicked Burn too!! And she loved it!

And last but not least (for today anyway - I do have more!) is Emily of Dreaming on the Job. She has a couple of Westerns lined up so you KNOW we have something in common - along with Wendy and Sybil :-) a couple of fellow lovers of the Western

I've been meaning to do this for a while!

One of the really great things about Blogger Appreciation Week, was the thrill of finding even more new or new to me reader bloggers. And I've been so excited to find some of them. I haven't updated my Blog Hopping sidebar for a bit - I always plan too - but I'm easily distracted. But I do have some of them saved as favourite so I can find them. Here are a few new or new to me bloggers

Barbara of Happily Forever After
Now I'm not just saying you have to visit her blog because I happened to be the lucky winner of a gift certificate when I suggested her friend Jen try the Stephanie Plum books. And again not just because I have a Very Strong Feeling she's going to be the Newest Crusader (she ordered North and South and plans to watch it this weekend - with her husband!) And it's not because she also just got a copy of Broken Wing and is going to read it. Nope - it's because her's is a great blog and I'm so glad I found it!!

Sayuri of Book Pron
She's another new-to-me blogger whose blog I love to visit!! She just did her first real review and may I just say she did a Great Job!! And the fact that she did it on Mr. Perfect - one of my favourite books, even makes it better. She's given some wonderful quote in there. Made me see again why I love this book.

Beth of Just An Average Carpool Queen (formerly known as Beth)
I love her blog too. Funny story though. I'm a 'jumper'. That means when someone comes up behind me, I jump! When I hear a sudden noise, I jump. She has a play list on her blog. I know this! Yet every time I visit, I jump when it kicks in *g*. And another odd thing about Beth's blog - she has two avatars walking and no matter what song is playing - fast or slow - the two avatar people walk in time to the music!! I don't know how that happens???? And she has 2 Keithe Urban songs on said list. Did I tell everyone I saw him in person? Yes, I know. I did. But it's fun to repeat it.

Now I don't know if you all know this - but this our own Kaitlin - only this is her review site. And while she changed her header AWAY from Richard (I know! I don't get it either) the one she has now is pretty darn good. I wouldn mind waking up to see him reading next to me!

Heather of Heather's Reading Romance.
She has quite a challenge she and some of her friends are doing. They are planning on reading the AAR Top 100 Romance Books. And since I've read over 90% of them, I'm looking forward to some reviews of some Pretty Darn Good books!!!

So that's just a few of my latest finds. I'll do this kind of thing again 'cause there can never be enough.
And in that vein - Wendy - Superlibrarian has an EXCELLENT post up at Romancing the Blog and some great advice for us reader bloggers.

(and update. I'm going into unchartered waters here. I just started reading Broken Wing for the third time!!! This is a first people)

Blogger Spotlight

I mentioned a couple of posts back how I enjoy finding new reader blogs. When I first started almost 3 1/2 years ago, there weren't nearly as many as today. And sadly, some of those blogging when I started just aren't anymore - and I miss them.

But, while new bloggers don't replace them, I do so love finding new romance blogs. Here are some I've discovered lately. They are either new bloggers or new to me bloggers. Hopefully I don't forget any. I bookmark them and then when I remember, add them to the sidebar since I don't use a feed - I do it the old fashioned way. So if I do miss you this post - hopefully I'll catch you next time.

One of the things I look forward to in February is the Annual Reader Poll at All About Romance. I love voting and seeing which books are readers favourites. For the past couple of years they have done it differently and they have an ongoing update of which books are in the running, out of the running, back in the running. I cast my ballot the other day. Be sure to check it out!

I don't know how many of you have checked out the new blog The Book Smugglers yet - they are two newbie bloggers, but they scored pretty good with a fascinating interview with Joanne Bourne, author of what already is and I'm sure will remain, one of my favourite books of 2008, The Spymaster's Lady. Be sure to check it out too!

And in non book related news, I can see the end of the tunnel on my kitchenless house! It's getting there. The ceiling, floors, walls, painting are all done and the cupboard frames are all done. It's fascinating coming home at the end of the day to see how much more they've done. I've been taking pictures - before, during and I'll take after so I can post them. I'm so excited! One of the things that bothered me most about the old kitchen was how dark it was. Well it's not dark now! It's nice and bright. Pics to follow!
