Where I've been and what I've been doing

Do you ever start reading a book - a real good book - put it down somewhere and then can't find it? That's what I did the other day. I've torn the house apart looking for it and can't find it anywhere!!! Arrrrrrggggghhh

So I started another book and I'm really enjoying it too - that's part of what's taken me away from blogging the past couple of days - reading, losing a book, looking for a book, reading another book and..

I've been entering the books I got into all my varied book cataloguing places. It's taking quite some time but when I get done, I plan to post all my new lovelies. I've been doing it on the lap top and I can only type half as fast on the laptop keyboard as I can on the desk top.

Hi Kristie
So glad you're back. Can't wait to see your book list.

OH! You already have Fire King! Jealous! You'll have to tell me all about it (well without the spoilers *g*)

did you know that library thing sells a handheld barcode scanner?

I'm seriously considering getting one of those and a lifetime membership--not that I'll ever come close to the awesome Super Librarian TBR mountain range or YOUR library, but it *would* speed the process of cataloging what I do have.

So, The Fire King is good? I haven't read the last few entries in that series... maybe I should...

Out of interest, how many cataloging sites are you updating?

Mary: I'm still only about 80% *g*. At least this year I didn't get sick after. I remember last year when I got back, I got terribly ill!!.

Aymless: I haven't read the middle Dirk & Steele books so it will be interesting to see how this stand up as nearly a stand-a-lone. And *g* I always try to avoid spoilers. I never mind them but I know a lot of readers hate them.

Lea: When you see the list I have - there is no way I can read them all if I continue to buy new books *gulp*

AL: But it's such a fun thing to do it myself. I go from catalogue to catalogue to catalogue and then to the spreadsheet - them I reverse the order for the next book. It takes a while - but I have a rhythm down now :-)

Nath: I'm almost done now!!

Orannia: I have 4 - LibraryThing (my fave), Good Reads, Shelfari and then my own spreadsheet. I did a post a while ago where I compared them all so I figured I'd better keep them all up.

I'm going to hunt that post down :) Thank you Kristie! Oh, and thank you so much for your comment about my Broken Wing review - I only saw it yesterday (sorry!).

Orannia: Here's the post I did comparing them - and bragging on my own spread sheet which I believe Nath is now using too :-)
