This 'n' That

First off -

Happy Dance! Happy Dance! I won a book over at Dear Author. I love winning books. The lucky book is Darker than Love by Kristina Lloyd. (nice name)

Drop Dead Gorgeous is on the shelves here. Well, some of them. There are two bookstores within a five minute drive of where I live but of course it's not at either of them. Nope - the copies are on the other side of the city. Now I'm trying to decide whether to wait or drive way out of my way to get this one. I've been impatiently waiting for it for ages now. I'm leaning towards waiting since I have another gift card with a chance of winning $1,000. The last one yielded only $5, so if I can wait until there are enough books out totally the $50 I need to spend, maybe I'll be luckier this time. Let's see:
  1. Drop Dead Gorgeous by Linda Howard 'cause I love Blair & Wyatt
  2. Bad Girls Don't by Cathie Linz 'cause Sandie really loved it.
  3. Under the Wire by Cindy Gerrard 'cause I'm liking this series
  4. Mercenaries by Angela Knight 'cause it's finally out in MM
  5. The Cursed One by Ronda Thompson 'cause I liked the first one even though I still have the second TBR
  6. Autumn in Scotland by Karen Ranney 'cause I have every book she's written pretty much and I hate to break a streak
  7. Passions of the Ghost by Sara MacKenzie 'cause I have the first two even though I haven't read them (why should that stop me?)
Yep - I think if I exercise patience I can do it!

My last creative writing course class was tonight. There is an advanced one that starts in January. I think I'll take that one too. It's the same teacher and she is very good. The only problem is there is a lot of writing in class and I don't know if it's carpal tunnel or arthritis or just cheap pens, but it hurst my wrist to write a lot anymore. I think I'll see if it's just the cheap pens. Maybe I need to get fatter ones.

Anyway - that's an update on my life for now.

'til later

My copy of Drop Dead Gorgeous is on its way from Amazon and should arrive tomorrow or Wednesday! Oh, I hope Howard's going to do Blair's sisters next (that sounded vaguely dirty, but I'm too lazy to change it).

Anyway, I can't wait for your review, Kristie.

Hey, we rather some Kristie than no Kristie! So don't sweat it if you can't blog every day. I also get mad when I can't but what can you do? Don't stress yourself. Just blog whenever you have a chance so we know what you are up to and how you are doing. Would hate to see you go! (^_^)

*hugs*

I have done some internet shopping for Christmas and I ordered a few things from Chapters online. Well, I swear they ship them all in separate packages so that you end up with *counting* 3 cards now. I mean, I could probably spend 150 in one month but the odds of the store having the titles I want are slim to none.

Still, I like to have a goal ;)

I'm wavering on the latest Howard - I did really enjoy the last one other than the hero having that 'stupid' moment. Definitely something I will have to think on.

I have a few of Jay's recommends and one of Rosario's on my list of TBB books that might just be in stores so maybe I'll get to use my cards yet!

Congrats on the book, I saw your name there and was excited for you! I cannot wait for Drop dead gorgeous I loved Blair, she cracked me up. I currently have Bad Girls don't but have not started it yet. I have Mercenaries and it is good if you like very steamy sci-fi (i.e. bondage and threesomes). I am waiting to get the Cursed One from the library because my vote is still deciding one whether or not I want to own these.

Kristie, I love your writing, and I can't wait to see how this class turns out for you. Missed seeing you 'round the 'net. You know, first it's the reading slump, then it's the blogging slump. It's like women all being on the same cycle LOL.

Robin: I hope it comes to a store near me very very soon! Knowing it's in the city is driving me nuts!! I was kind of surprised when I heard DDG was going to be a continuation of Blair & Wyatt 'cause I thought it would be the middle sister - the lawyer (forget her name at the moment). But since I adore Blair it's all good - as long as she does get to the sister's stories :)

Mailyn: For some reason we are much harder on ourselves aren't we *g*. And I love blogging too much to ever leave it :)

Cindy: My books came in three shipments too, but I think I threw the other one out and it's probably the $1,000 card :( But I'm going to think positive!! I do have the $1,000 card. I DO! I DO!

Kris: Another Blair lover! I think she is just a hoot and can't wait to read more about her. And if I can read All U Can Eat, I should be able to handle Mercanaries (I think *g*)

Stacy: Thank you! I've been wanting to take a creative writing course for years and I'm so glad I finally did it. It really was interesting. And slumps! Don't you just hate them *sigh*.

This is definitely a different kind of book but I figured it wasn't one that you would ordinarily buy for yourself and you could try or not. :)

I'm anxious to get DROP DEAD GORGEOUS too. In fact I have a whole list of books I want to buy that came out yesterday. I have another list of books for the UBS. Alas, I have to finish my Christmas project before I get to any reading, but my reward will be the book shopping which I enjoy almost as much as the reading.
