Tonight was the Night

Yep - tonight I was in the same room as Nico - the winner of So You Think You Can Dance Canada.

Oh all right - it wasn't exactly a 'room' - more like a huge auditorium. And yes - there were thousands of others in the auditorium too. And no, our seats weren't close to the stage so I'm thinking he didn't notice me in the crowd. But still it was good enough that I'm topping the evening off right with a nice very small glass of White Chocolate Cream Liqueur.

Anyway - it was a GREAT show - despite sitting way to far away. Only other people who followed the show will get the following. They did all my favourite numbers - it seemed each dancer picked my favourite of their single dances. Most of my favourite partner dances they did including The Mirror one with Miles and Lisa, the Dark Angel one with *sigh* Nico and Arassay, the Caprieto with Miles and Nico and a whole bunch more. And they did two of my favourite group routines, In Any Other World - choreographed by Mia Michaels and the Pasa Doble routine that Jean Marc choreographed so I was one happy camper at the end. I wish I could post them again - but alas - they were taken off YouTube.

Although hands down Nico is my favourite, but I was also most surprisingly impressed with Isaak - he was really good.

Wait!!! Because I can multi-task I found some on YouTube -Yippee Skippee

OK - now I'm excited!! They did this number

And this one

And *another sigh* this one

Now this last one is from another show - and my favourite group routine they did all season.

I tried to take a video myself but was sunk 'cause 1) we were too far away and 2) I "um" couldn't figure out how to do it.
And even the girls who never watched SYTYCD Canada were impressed by the show.

And now - it's a work night so I must say farewell - but I had a grand time!

yayyyy! That must have been SO awesome and fun! DF and I talked about going to see the SYTYCD tour one year but it never happened. We do watch the show obsessively each summer. heh.

Glad to hear you had a good time. :)

Cindy *g* that liqueur went down real fine! It's the kind you sip real slow and just enjoy :)

Lea: After watching all season I was kind of wishing I had a life do-over so I could take dance lessons. I did take ballet when I was real little but I didn't keep up with them for very long.

Oh Sula - it was awesome!! The only thing that kept if from being perfect was the distance from the stage and not being able to see them dance close up. But they had screens so we could watch those too.

AL: it's good to be back!! I didn't mean to stay away so long! And after watching and adoring the whole season - not to mention voting and voting and voting and voting - it was WONDERFUL to see it in person!!

Nath: I heard that!!! I only hope they have as good of dancers as they had the first time - another sexy Nico wouldn't be a bad thing I tell you. Plus - I think I'll have A LOT of people at work watching the second season - and hopefully more voting too :-)

Barbara: I do have a slight tendency to go overboard when I get enthused about something. I think I might have got somewhat of a weird reputation at work. I had people coming up to me all day - many that I don't talk to that often because it's a fairly large office and ask me how the show was. Somehow word got around the whole building that a bunch of us - led by me - were going last night.
