Another quickie

Just for the heck of it, I did this quiz (bottom of the page). I scored 4 out of 6 and I "know my presidents". What is most astonishing *chuckle* is I'm Canadian.

Ha! I know my presidents, too, and the sad thing is, I don't know if I would be able to answer some of those questions for Uruguayan presidents! Who the hell was the youngest one when he was elected? I'm going to have to do some research...

Well, I know for certain I wouldn't know the Canadian nor the Uruguayan Presidents--I guess that makes me a shallow American. But I did get all 6 of the US Presidents right.

Do they even have presidents in Canada? Don't you guys have a Prime Minister or something?

Jay; you're right. Our government is based more like the British. We have a Prime Minister. And interestingly enough, we don't get to vote for him (or her). Instead we vote for members of parliment. Whichever party gets the most members of parliment - the leader of their party becomes PM. So the only ones who can actually vote in or out the PM are the voters in his own particular riding. Interestingly enough it has happened a couple of times where he lost in his own riding, but his party was elected as the leading party.
And for anyone who is interested *heh heh* it looks like we Canadians will be headed for another election very shortly. I could do (and at times am tempted to do) a very long blog on Canadian Politicians. You guys in the States think politics is a mess there - well it really is here too!!!! I LOATHE the current party in power with every fibre of my being - but I think they will get back in again.
Anyway - enough of the civics lesson for today. Plus to go any further would take me out of my happy place
