Wow, that was great! Thanks for sharing. What musical is the song from?

That was lovely!!! In the beginning I was wondering if it was lyp-synch because the lady's lips' movements didn't match with the lyrics but now I know it was just Youtube's usual poor video quality; you only had to see the judges' faces when she started singing. OMG, totally priceless!! :-DD Britain's got talent indeed.

I can't watch YouTube *sulks*

Is this the woman who sang a song from Les Miserables? I've heard she is AMAZING!

My cousin came over on Easter Sunday, and they'd watched the show, so he was telling us all about her. We watched the repeat just to see that bit.
Slightly depresses me every time I watch it, in that I turn 47 next month, and she's not a great advertisement for that age. However, at the moment I'm rooting for her to win, and trusting that somewhere along the line she'll be given a make-over, and that she'll end up besequinned and gorgeous at the Royal Varity Performance.

Oh yes, that was wonderful! Thank you for posting it! I love that musical too - one of my favorites! She was amazing, just as good if not better than Broadway and I went through a phase where I'd just listen to it non-stop in my car with tears streaming down my cheeks while doing my errands. I couldn't get enough of it at one time. I've seen it twice on Broadway, and have the 10th anniversary tape - a great song to sing too! Wow!

Dottie: Wasn't it wonderful??? I don't know how many times I've watched it now. It's the kind of thing that gives you shivers.

Cherie: It's from the musical Les Miserables and in the musical this song is sung by a very sad young woman names Eponine who is in love with a young revolutionary young student who is in love with someone else.

Mary - their faces were priceless weren't they? I've never seen that kind of a look on Simon's face before.

Orianna: Yes - that's the one. There are probably lot's of copies out now - there was one on the opening page of Yahoo. Hopefully you can see it somehow because it is AMAZING.

Marianne *g* I don't know much, but I get the feeling she's a woman who hasn't gotten around much. I think with a makeover she could probably be unrecognizable - except for her voice.

Pidute: That was a riot!! I'd heard about it but hadn't seen it. The father can really shake a leg can't he?

Julie: That song and Empty Chairs at Empty Tables are two of my very favourite and Susan Boyle did such a wonderful job - the way she got those hight note - Wowzers.

Kris: It's not just her voice is it? It's how unassuming she seems to be. She's such a charming woman.

Teddyree: Hi! Welcome! And thank you :-}
She give me goosebumps too! I hope it keeps getting posted - how she does each time.

Tracy: Wasn't that amazing though?? And it seems to be spreading all over too.

Nikki: I loved all the judges reactions too. Both Piers and Simon are usually such hard asses - it's nice to see them so touched.

I loved that look on Simon's face. I have never seen him look like that on American Idol!

I need to twist my husband's arm to get him to take me to Les Miserables. He is not crazy about musicals, but I did get him to Wicked and West Side Story.

Hi Kristie!

Just thought I'd let you know that CNN is replaying your video today!
Everyone loves her!

Kristie, just a correction - that wasn't Eponine's song, this was Fantine's song from the beginning of the show, singing about how she fell for some aristocrat that dumped her - remember? So sad!

Shaymless Aymless said...

WOW! Glad she got the recognition she deserved!

Julie: You're right. It's right after she gets kicked out on the street by the factory supv.

Kristie,
that was an amazing post and an even more amazing woman. I hope to her spirit when I am 47!

That was so awesome. I hope those nasty young things in the audience who were rolling their eyes have a new appreciation for the older women around them!

I was able to see it on the news last night. I think she is amazing - for going on the show and then standing up in front of all those people and bringing the house down with such a beautiful voice!
