I Made It - Day 1 at RWA

So I made it here to New York City.  My goodness but it's a big city with lots and lots of traffic.  I took the train from Albany, a train trip I HIGHLY recommend.  It's ever so much more relaxed than flying.  And the scenery!!  Most of the trip is along the Hudson river.  I wanted to put on the soundtrack from Last of the Mohicans and go back in time, but alas, my earbuds were packed away.

But when the train arrived at Penn Station, what a different vibe. The hotel is maybe 8 blocks or so away but I still took a cab since I didn't know where it was.  Took about 1/2 hour & cost $13!  Yikes.

I was thrilled that Wendy was in the room when I got here.  Right away talk turned to romance and it was like I just saw her a few weeks ago.

I did see Nath, Ames, Rosie & Naths sister who is here more to site see but they were headed to the Jimmy Fallon taping so we didn't get a chance to chat.

But the hotel is starting to fill up with romance people as we start trickling in from all over the place for this time I love to spend with my people.

Well, that's it for now but I'll be back.  Picturless I'm afraid, I'm doing this on my iPad and don't know how to do pics.  And I'm phone less so I kind of have to rely on Twitter.  But still, I'm here.

'til later

Yay for KristieJ back at RWA!

Wish, oh how I wish! I could be there too.

Have lots of fun and enjoy lots of book talk with bookish people who like what you like.

No way!! I wish I would have known. I don't comment but I've loved your blog for years and would have loved to meet you! I did get to meet Ames and Nath which was fantastic.

AL- the plan was to blog all along but while I had lots of fun, the energy level was wonky. I did enjoy lots of book talk though. LOVED IT1

Nicole - I wish I would have known too!! I spent time with both Nath and Ames and if I knew they were meeting you I surely would have made sure to be with them. And I'm glad you enjoy my blog. I took a lot more time away then I ever planned but I'm back and if this past week was any indication I plan to keep on going - kind of like the energizer bunny. Though today I feel more like the energizerless bunny. A week of partying will do that won't it? Hopefully things work out that we can meet some time.

I understand being exhausted. I think today was my first day I felt semi-normal. (I blogged about my RWA too! http://nicolemichaelsbooks.com/2015/07/29/my-first-rwa/)

I hope we do get to meet someday as you were instrumental in my early romance reading, ultimately leading me to write. Thank you for that. ;) You lead me to some of my all time favs. Broken Wing and The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie come to mind. Goodness it's been years.

For a while I had stopped checking in on blogs but after seeing Ames it led me back to Monroe's site where I discovered you all and had fun seeing what everyone was up to. I'll have to check in on you more often and you should totally go to RT in Vegas!!

Nicole - I am humbled beyond belief that I had whatever part in you following your dreams. Wow. And I still read those books. Though this year the two books I was really keen on telling anyone who would listen to were Outlaw Hearts (and the follow up book Do Not Forsake Me) by Rosanne Bitner and Transcendence by Shay Savage. Though that one has been out for a while.

And I will keep you posted about RT and Vegas. Wendy may be doing a workshop there next year and I've never been to Vegas - I know, I'm almost a troglodyte. So I'm really considering making it a twofer year
