My Baby is Now a Married Man!!

I have been a terrible, just errible blogger lately. I could blame my son's wedding but since my (now official) daughter in law has been in total control of everything since Day 1, I can't really blame that. I have started quite a number of posts but didn't get any of them finished. I have read aLOT of books and have a number of reviews in different stages of completion.

Nope - no excuses for not updating more often. But I plan to do better from here on in, yes I do. Until my next post though, here are some pictures of my baby's wedding last Saturday. It was a gorgeous day - the weather couldn't have been better. And everything went off without a hitch. The ceremony was beautiful, the venue was a big armory with the ceremony being in one part and the reception in another. So what they did with the seating was to have it in a circle, signifying being surrounded by their circle of friends and family. They also did something differerent. Both her mom and I walked Rye up the aisle carrying jars of sand which the two of them poured together into one vase. That was to show their lives were mingled now and could no longer be seperated, just like the two colours of sand couldn't be separated any longer. That is what they are doing in the first picture.

His wife is perfect for him and I lucked out so much too with her. She makes him SO happy. I got almost weepy a couple of times and real did at one point, wishing that Ron was there to see them. But overall, it was a great day.

Mazel Tov!! Congrats! How wonderful for you all.

They looked fantastic (and I love the pic of you, too!) and very happy.

I love the symbolism of the sand ceremony. We have a friend who did that at their wedding - it was so beautiful.

Lori: They also had a rock ceremony where a few selected people wrote a single word on a rock and during the ceremony, had to say why they had chosen that word. The word I chose was "Complete" and the reason I chose that one:Ron and I were total opposites in just about every way. But he filled in where I was missing and I filled in where he was missing and together we were complete. I see the two of you forming that same kind of bond and I am so glad that the two of you are also becoming complete with each other."

And *g* isn't my d-i-l gorgeous??? And very oddly enough - we have the exact same second name - spelled the same and everything - though she goes by her first and I by my second.

They look very happy together! Big congratulations to them both!

My friend had the sand ceremony as well. It's a lovely gesture and the rock one sounds fab too!

Marg: I'd never heard of it before, although now I've heard of a few people who have done it. Part of why is probably 'cause I haven't been to a wedding in over 10 years *g*

My Lil' Sis and BIL did the sand thing too :) He's Turkish so his mother brought over this lovely, pristine white sand from Turkey that she found ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. Seriously, it looked like it belonged on some sparkling Mediterrean beach. My sister's sand was garden-variety Midwest beach sand. Uh, needless to say - nowhere near pristine and the color of mud :) LOL!

Congrats to the bride and groom! And yeah, Kristie is blogging again!!!!!!

Oh, Kristie! Congratulations and best wishes to the gorgeous couple. I'm so happy for them and for you, too. The mixing of the sand is such fantastic symbolism. I've never heard of that before, but I love it!

Good to see a post from you. :)
