Here it's being taken over by the Global network which instead of running that oh so anticipated commercial starring K-Fed, we'll be getting political commercials - oh and I'm sure the same car commercial over and over and over and over (well you get the point).

Merlin: LOL - My son plays rugby and calls football a whimpy sport. He even went to Ireland a couple of years ago with the team to play some games over there. Apparently they were trounced soundly - but they had a great time. Not a sober time I hear - but a great time! And much as I hate to give it to them, I'm thinking Indianapolis will win too. I just think this is Peyton's year. But how I would love to see da Bears win.

Wendy: I think it will be an interesting game seeing the Bears defence against Peyton Manning and the Colts offense. And as to why grown men don't want to hang out with their mammas? - I just don't get it :)

Farmwifetwo: Well - if you have satelite, I think you get an American feed so - lucky you girl! You can see K-Fed!!! And much as I hate to admit it, American football is much better than Canadian football. The three downs just isn't enough. Although it does make for a better passing game and I like the passing game better than the running game.

Tara: If I didn't have to get up and go to work Monday, I would make that 10 hour trek *g*. And LOL - that's a most excellent comparison - taking your mother to the prom. I like that! I think I had Brent going for a bit, it was funny listening to him come up with plausible sounding reasons :-)but Ryan was on to me after the trip thing.

JMC: Ah other Bears fans. Again - if only I didn't have to go to work the next day. I'd be the perfect guest. I'd cheer for the right team, I wouldn't ask dumb questions and I would drink a brewsky or two.....

Stacy: I used to cheer for the Vikings because the high school I went to had the same name. The Vikings however were NOT a team Ron cheered for! And I'm nothing if not flexible - and Buccaneers is more exotic sounding anyway *chuckle*Kristie (J)https://www.blogger.com/profile/15743921647882733738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10897259.post-1170459557257729362007-02-02T18:39:00.000-05:002007-02-02T18:39:00.000-05:00lol there will be some unhappy fans here in Iowa....lol there will be some unhappy fans here in Iowa. I think the cable dispute will still be going on and we won't get CBS, which I think is the Super Bowl channel.Nicolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02716785419172270884noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10897259.post-1170454122021626842007-02-02T17:08:00.000-05:002007-02-02T17:08:00.000-05:00I hate to tell you this but I have a bet on Indian...I hate to tell you this but I have a bet on Indianapolis winning.

I'll forgive you if the Bears win though.

I have the Wales v Ireland rugby game to worry about on Sunday and there's much more riding on that (from my point of view).

M.EL PADRONEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18100365676460468461noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10897259.post-1170436494196891232007-02-02T12:14:00.000-05:002007-02-02T12:14:00.000-05:00Kristie:What? LOL

Hey, you're welcome to watch the game with me - but California is a bit of a hike. No idea who the heck I'm going to root for. I like both teams. The Boyfriend thinks it's all going to come down to quarterback play. I think it depends on the defenses. We shall see.....Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12485867264936716806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10897259.post-1170432067762239912007-02-02T11:01:00.000-05:002007-02-02T11:01:00.000-05:00Kristie, we have satellite.. is it on NBC etc?? They come directly from the USofA... wonder if we get their version or they double us over with Global or something.

That would drive my dh batty if we put on the game in the afternoon. Would actually be worth it.. :) :)

I too understand football. The hubby takes the Superbowl seriously, will not go to a party--too distracting. So we have our own little party, lots of good snacks spread out over hours and hours.

Ummm, as to the boys... I would imagine taking mom to a Superbowl party is only slightly better than taking her to the prom. So, do you think they took you seriously or did they get the chain yanking.Tara Mariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15963704767440694312noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10897259.post-1170420935341170872007-02-02T07:55:00.001-05:002007-02-02T07:55:00.001-05:00Kristie, you're welcome at my family SuperBowl par...Kristie, you're welcome at my family SuperBowl party, although Baltimore would be a bit of a trek just for the game :)

My uncle and brother are die hard Bears fans and have been for 30+ and 20+ years, respectively. That are nearly delirious with joy about the upcoming game. Normally, the SB party is a very social occasion, but I'm think that this year, nonsports talk will be banned from the den and people who interfere with their viewing pleasure will be summarily ejected :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10897259.post-1170420926207470822007-02-02T07:55:00.000-05:002007-02-02T07:55:00.000-05:00Kristie, you're welcome at my family SuperBowl par...Kristie, you're welcome at my family SuperBowl party, although Baltimore would be a bit of a trek just for the game :)

My uncle and brother are die hard Bears fans and have been for 30+ and 20+ years, respectively. I hope you enjoy watching.

Cindy, I LOVE hockey! It's so much more fun than some of the other sports - constant action.Stacy~https://www.blogger.com/profile/14919278697757441246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10897259.post-1170417103715679532007-02-02T06:51:00.000-05:002007-02-02T06:51:00.000-05:00Nath: LOL Oh I understand why they wouldn't want ...Nath: LOL Oh I understand why they wouldn't want to have their mother there too. I didn't expect for one moment for either of them to say yes *chuckle* I just like to yank their chains every so often. I very much asked them with tongue in cheek.
Lisa and I did the same thing to Ryan when he said he was planning on going to Cuba. He said he was thinking of going with friends and we asked him when 'cause we were thinking of the same thing and we could go with him and his friends too. We got quite a laugh out of that. We told him we could scope out girls for him and everything - pick out ones we thought he'd like and didn't understand why he didn't like the idea.

Cindy: Alas, just like romance novels, I don't think any of them are as fond of sports as I am. To be honest, I'm more upset about missing the commecials than I am in watching the game by myself :)Kristie (J)https://www.blogger.com/profile/15743921647882733738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10897259.post-1170396081309985162007-02-02T01:01:00.000-05:002007-02-02T01:01:00.000-05:00What about your girlfriends that were over a few w...What about your girlfriends that were over a few weekends ago? Do any of them do Superbowl parties?

I would say come here but you would be sorely disappointed - Bob watches for about half an hour and then tears a wall down or something while 'listening' to the game. Yeah, God forbid I change the channel when he is two floors away from the TV. I get the 'HEY, I'm watching that!' On top of that, I don't watch football so no party here. Bob's lucky if I don't rent movies and set the TV up for me ;)

Now, you want to see something scary, just put me in front of a TV with a hockey game on. Bob has turned the TV off because I get so vocal. Loud vocal. That's from my teen years when I would watch the games with my dad and yell at the players like they could hear us. I don't even have to know who is playing - I usually pick the team that is currently losing - unless there is a Canadian team on the ice, then look out!

I hope you find a party to go to!

CindySCindyShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18349459903336460467noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10897259.post-1170391657596291642007-02-01T23:47:00.000-05:002007-02-01T23:47:00.000-05:00Hey Kristie :) Yeah, us girls tend to do "emotiona...Hey Kristie :) Yeah, us girls tend to do "emotional" cheering - as in, we root for teams/players for silly reasons :) As for your boys, well no offense, but I think it's quite understandable that they don't want their mother to go with them. It has nothing to do with your personality and persona, more like the fact that you're their mother and wouldn't fit in the crowd. Think historical books - would any of the rake bring their mom to an orgy? :P

Hope you'll find someone to watch the SuperBowl with :)nathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02626894830238717124noreply@blogger.com
